RICKETY BRIDGE SOAP EMPORIUM SMALL BATCH ARTISAN SOAPS:

All of my soaps here at Rickety Bridge Soap Emporium are made in small batches of 10-20 bars at a time. As with any handmade item, each bar will have its own unique individual characteristics, making no two bars identical. I have created each recipe from scratch, picking the perfect combinations of oils to make a well-balanced bar. Whenever possible, I source my fats locally, allowing us to reduce our carbon footprint. I render down these fats myself to use in my various soap recipes. This saves these fats from being sent to a landfill.

Ready to try out an alternative shampoo? Here are a few things you will need to know: Using cold processed soap is quite a bit different than your traditional shampoos. Many commercial shampoos are filled with synthetic detergents and foaming agents, where mine does not. Since it works differently, most people will go through what is called a transition period with their hair, which is very normal. Since cold processed soap has a higher pH, it is always recommended to do an acid rinse after washing. Typically you would use either apple cider vinegar or lemon juice for this. I recommend 1 TBS of either diluted in 1-2 cups of warm water.
To use: Rub shampoo bar all over your head to lather. Once you have enough for your hair, work lather throughout your hair and scalp. Rinse hair well. Apply your acid rinse by pouring over your hair. Work rinse into your hair and onto your scalp. Rinse again.
Also makes a fantastic body bar!!

Each bar, unless otherwise stated, is adorned with an unbleached coffee filter and label, listing it's individual ingredients. I use minimal packaging whenever I can, to help reduce the amount of waste that goes into shipping. Reusable and recyclable shredded paper is used in my packages, and occasionally I use biodegradable packing peanuts.
